Land Rover are currently making some exceptional cars. With the exception of the ageing Defender, all their models are at the very top of their classes. The Freelander is the entry-level model to the brand and gets very impressive reviews. The Defender is the next step-up, with 7 seats, a great engine and unrivalled off-road ability, it gets fantastic praise from the critics.
Land Rover also have a sub-brand, called Range Rover. There are currently three Range Rovers on sale. The smallest is the Evoque, which already has a huge waiting list and has been admired by all the critics who have driven it. The Range Rover Sport is, as the name suggests, the sportiest model in the line-up. Other than its slight image problem, it gets a lot of good reviews. Finally there's the excellent Range Rover, which most experts agree is the best large 4x4 on sale, despite the fact that it's quite an old model now.
The only issue with Land Rover (and Range Rover) is that their cars have had pretty poor reliability problems, mainly caused by electrical faults.
