What our customer say
About SEAT
Spanish car maker SEAT started life in 1950, making copies of small Fiats under licence, to be sold cheaply on the Spanish market. The first Brits knew about the brand was probably in the seventies, as a hire car from the airport at Malaga…
SEAT came to the UK itself in the 1980s, with the original Ibiza hatchback, and in 1986 Volkswagen took a controlling stake in the company, bringing it under the wing of the massive German car maker.
SEAT hit its big successes in the 1990s and 2000s, making high-quality family cars, using VW mechanical bits and pieces, which were usually cheaper than the equivalent Volkswagen, and often a bit more stylish too.
Models such as the Leon, Ibiza, Alhambra, and Ateca proved popular with UK buyers, and SEAT’s high-performance badge, Cupra, which was originally used for SEAT versions of VW GTI models, was eventually spun off as its own brand.
Now, while Cupra concentrates on electric models, SEAT is focusing on selling affordable cars with petrol or hybrid engines, including the latest versions of the Ibiza, Leon, and the Arona small SUV.
Why lease a SEAT?
SEAT’s cars tend to be quite stylish — often more so than the VW with which they share all of their mechanical bits — and noticeably good value for money.
That means that they’re very affordable to lease, with some very tempting monthly payment options, and a given SEAT is usually better-equipped as standard than a VW with the same engine and bodystyle, so you often end up getting more for your money.
Leasing programmes can also offer other benefits such as fully-inclusive packages that cover your servicing, insurance, VED tax, and even fresh sets of tyres.
You can lease your SEAT through Carwow too, and we’ll help you find the best leasing rates, and the best SEAT models.
