Car changing is a big deal
Dacia has announced the name of a new model which is likely to go on sale this year. It’s called the Striker, and we expect it to be an estate car to take on the Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports. A full reveal is coming on March 10.
In a world where SUVs are more popular than ever, Dacia is gearing up to launch an old-school estate car. It’s been known internally as the C-Neo for some time now, but the official name has now been announced.
It’ll be called the Dacia Striker, and it’s a traditional family car which will enter the brand into a new segment. The car will be revealed in full on March 10, and order books are expected to open before the end of the year.
New Dacia Striker coming March 10: what do we know so far?
Beyond the name, there aren’t many details out there about the new Dacia Striker. We know that it’ll be an affordable family car with an estate body.

We expect it to take on cars like the Skoda Octavia Estate, which means it’s likely to have spacious rear seats and around 600 litres of boot space. It’ll almost certainly share engines with cars like the Dacia Duster and Sandero as well.
This means it’ll probably have a 1.2-litre petrol engine at the bottom of the range with a manual gearbox, and a 155hp hybrid system is on the cards as well. It could even be offered with four-wheel drive, which would make it great for rural adventures.

The Striker may also be slightly raised compared to a traditional estate car, a bit like the Dacia Sandero Stepway, which would fit nicely with the brand’s rugged image. It’s likely to share design cues from other Dacia models as well, such as the slim headlights with Y-shaped LEDs from the Duster.
But this is all hearsay for now, you’ll have to wait until the reveal on March 10th to see what the new Striker will look like.
How much will the new Dacia Striker cost?
While it’s a bit soon to put a price on the Striker, being a Dacia you can expect it to be competitively priced.
We reckon it’ll sit somewhere between the Duster and Bigster SUVs, which would suggest a starting price of around £23,000. That would make it £6,000 less than a Skoda Octavia Estate, which is also the same price difference between a Dacia Bigster and a Skoda Karoq.
