Geely is one of a number of Chinese brands which entered the UK market in 2025, but it’s far from a rookie as it owns Volvo, Polestar, Smart and even Lotus. Its in-house lineup is small, but the EX5 and Starray SUVs both offer strong value for money with generous equipment levels.
They’re similarly priced but the EX5 is an all-electric SUV, while the Starray is a plug-in hybrid. They look very similar, though, so you won’t tell which is which from afar.
They may be built by a manufacturing giant, but Geely has yet to build a reputation for reliability in the UK, and as it’s such a new brand on our shores, there’s no telling how prepared the aftercare is for potential issues to arise.
