1. Hyundai Santa Fe
Our first pick is a large SUV that we think is so good that we crowned it Car of the Year in 2025. It’s a hybrid that not only looks ace with its cyberpunk styling, but also has an incredibly spacious interior and is surprisingly economical for such a big car – we achieved 38mpg during our time with it.
That said, alternatives have bigger boots, and it’s not particularly exciting to drive. Unfortunately, there are no fully electric or diesel versions either.
There’s currently a great deal on the Calligraphy version of the Santa Fe on Carwow, with savings up to £14,764, at the time of writing. This is for the top-spec version that comes with a 288hp 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid engine.

2. BMW iX1
Next up, we have the BMW iX1. This small family electric SUV has decent efficiency – we clocked around 3.8 miles per kWh during our time with it. It’s also got a nice touchscreen that’s responsive and clear, while the cabin is well designed with good-quality materials.
However, its smaller battery limits its overall range to up to 319 miles, and its charging speed could be faster, especially for a car from such a premium brand. It’s not the most comfortable over bumps, either.
If it’s still of interest, though, Carwow currently has a great deal on a brand-new one. At the time of writing, you can save up to £9,499 on the entry-level Sport version, bringing the price down from around £37,000 to less than £28,000.
With this version, you get up to 319 miles of range on a single charge, as well as features such as:

3. Peugeot E-208
From one electric car to another, we’d also recommend the Peugeot E-208. This small EV hatchback is incredibly stylish and has such a great interior that it would give a premium brand a run for its money. It’s also very efficient – we saw 4.4 miles per kWh in a big-battery E-208 – and it has a big boot, with up to 342 litres of space.
That said, rear seat space is very tight, and the driving position won’t be to everyone’s liking.
You can currently save up to £8,300, at the time of writing, on a Peugeot E-208 if you buy one through Carwow. This is for the GT Premium version that gets you up to 217 miles of range, which we think isn’t bad for a car of its size.
The starting price for this 50kWh version usually starts from near £29,000, but the Carwow discount brings it down to less than £21,000.

4. Ford Kuga
The Ford Kuga is another car worth looking at in our September sale. It’s a spacious, practical family SUV that’s good fun to drive and comes with generous amounts of equipment. It’s a shame the cabin looks and feels dated compared to its alternatives, and it’s not all that comfortable around town.
If its cons don’t put you off, though, then this deal might be worth a look. You can currently save up to £7,415 on a Kuga through Carwow, at the time of writing. This is for an ST-Line X Black Package version which comes with a 183hp 2.5-litre hybrid engine, and the following features:

5. BYD Seal
Last up, we have an electric saloon from Chinese manufacturer BYD. The Seal is rather handsome, comes well-equipped, and is comfortable yet fun to drive. However, the touchscreen is hard to navigate on the move and the boot isn’t the biggest and most practical. It’s also outgunned by the Tesla Model 3 on range, coming in at up to 354 miles.
Still interested? You can currently save up to £5,885 on a Seal through Carwow, at the time of writing. This deal is for the Excellence version, which gives you up to 323 miles, and features such as:
