This is the new Audi RS6 Avant GT, and it’s the final encore for this much-loved performance estate car. It not only looks much more hardcore, it comes with a whole host of handling upgrades.

You get adjustable coilover suspension, lightened carbon fibre panels and a tweaked all-wheel drive system. You’ll need to get in quick, because just 60 of these cars will be coming to the UK.

New Audi RS6 Avant GT design

There’s not much danger of mistaking the new Audi RS6 GT for the standard model, because it looks a lot more track-focussed and hardcore than the Performance version.

Starting up front, the bumper is totally unique to the GT model with much larger air intakes. These gloss black scoops aren’t just for show either, they help to release pressure from the wheel arches and cool the brakes. The bonnet is also made of lightweight carbon fibre.

The changes to the side are even more dramatic, and not just because of the sporty livery. These 22-inch alloy wheels are unique to the GT, and they look a bit like the ones you could get on classic Audi models like the RS2 from the 90s.

Looking at the rear, you have a massive new roof spoiler to separate this limited-run model from the standard car, as well as a tweaked lower bumper. The massive twin oval tailpipes are still a prominent feature.

Handling is the name of the game for the new Audi RS6 Avant GT, so it’s been heavily tweaked to make it more agile than the standard car.

The biggest change under the skin is the adjustable coilover suspension. You can’t tweak it at the touch of a button, it requires a bit of spannering to dial in the right stiffness. There are also stiffer stabilisers to make sure the body roll is kept in check.

The GT’s all-wheel drive system has also been tweaked to make it more biassed towards the rear wheels when you’re in certain drive modes, and you get a reworked centre differential. All this adds up to a car which should feel much more agile through the corners.

Under the bonnet, the new Audi RS6 Avant GT has the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the Performance model. It also produces the same 630hp and 850Nm of torque as that car.

It is ever so slightly quicker to 60mph than standard, but only by a tenth of a second. It can complete the sprint in 3.3 seconds, and it’ll go on to a top speed of 190 mph. That’s 16mph faster than the standard RS6.

You also get a smattering of interior upgrades in the RS6 GT, most notably the rather lovely-looking carbon fibre bucket seats. They’re finished in a suede-like material as well to make sure they hold you in place through the corners.

Elsewhere, the armrests, dashboard, centre console and the door panels are trimmed in the same material as the seats, and you get bright red seat belts. To remind you of how special your car is, there’s a plaque showing your build number.

How much is the new Audi RS6 Avant GT?

If you fancy owning the ultimate Audi RS6 Avant, you’ll have to be quick. Just 660 GTs will be made worldwide, and only 60 of those are destined for UK shores.
