- Light commercial vehicles now available through carwow’s online auctions, held six days per week

09 October 2023, London: UK car dealers can now source high-quality used light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and pickups from carwow, via its daily online auctions. The move comes in response to strong demand from carwow’s UK network of dealer partners. carwow began adding LCVs and pickups to its online auctions last month. During the first two weeks of that pilot, hundreds of LCVs were listed.
carwow’s new LCV listings currently include pickups, vans, mini buses and commercial 4x4s, and its most popular models have so far included used Ford Ranger, Land Rover Defenders, Ford Transits, VW Transporters and Nissan Navaras. 45% of the listings have been under five years old, while 55% had under 60,000 miles on the clock – both being popular criteria for used LCV consumers.
carwow launched its consumer-facing Sell My Car service in 2021 to help meet dealer demand for greater quantities of quality used cars. Since then, the Sell My Car service has grown phenomenally with dealer numbers on carwow continuing to rise. The company has been taking input from its regular Dealer Councils to evolve the service, for example by shifting to a digital auction model and by upgrading the pre-sale appraisal process.
Sally Foote, Managing Director of carwow UK, adds: “We know quality is critical for dealers, so every LCV listing is pre-qualified by our team of experts, just like our typical used-car stock, to ensure a complete service history, background checks are conducted before a vehicle reaches our auctions, and we can support with documentation and transportation.
“We’ve listened to our dealer partners to ensure we know exactly what profile of LCV they are really looking for, and that’s coupled with consistently low acquisition costs and no subscription fees to help maximise dealers’ margins.”
“Dealers now have hundreds of fresh LCVs to bid on each month via carwow; they aren’t seeing the vans or 4x4S they saw yesterday, let alone last week. It’s also quick and simple for dealers to review the condition of vehicles on the platform, make an offer and buy directly from the seller.”
