Ssangyong rebrands as KGM motors: new UK lineup revealed

Car changing is a big deal
Ssangyong is no more. The Korean marque has had a total rebrand, now calling itself KGM Motors, and it’s launched a new lineup for the UK. Read on for all you need to know.

Korean brand Ssangyong has had a change of name, now going by KGM Motors. That may not sound as cool (Ssangyong translates to double dragon) but it’s also revealed some funky-looking new models for the UK.
Two new SUVs will launch in the first half of this year, the Torres and the Torres EVX, and a new electric pickup truck is also in the works looking suspiciously like a smaller GMC Hummer EV.
New KGM Motors lineup for 2024 confirmed
Ssangyong has not only changed its name to KGM Motors, it’s also introducing two new models to the UK market this year. The Torres is a petrol-powered SUV, while the Torres EVX is a jacked-up electric car.
They may share the same name, but they actually look quite different. Both share a rugged design, with the petrol-powered car getting a grille up front very similar to a Jeep Wrangler. That car also has a more aggressive-looking lower bumper.
The EVX, on the other hand, looks an awful lot like a miniature GMC Hummer EV. Those slim headlights and the dotted LED light bar across the front ape that car, as does the boxy profile and the massive door mirrors. Both the Torres and the Torres EVX will go on sale in the coming weeks.
The Torres EVX will also inspire a new electric pickup truck in the future called the 0100, as well as a large electric SUV called the KR10. Both of these cars will be revealed in the second half of this year.
