April 05, 2024 by

Mat’s jumped in the Audi RS7 Performance today, and he’s got a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 under the bonnet. It puts out 630hp and 850Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Audi weighs in at 2,065kg, and it’ll set you back £133,100.

Lining up next to Mat is the BMW M8 Gran Coupe. Powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, it has 625hp and 750Nm of torque. Like the Audi it also has all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, but it is heavier at 2,074kg. It’s also a touch more expensive, making a £137,715 hole in your wallet.

Finally then we have the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-Door. On paper it should walk this drag race. Its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 puts out 639hp and 900Nm of torque, and it’s sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It’s also the lightest car here, tipping the scales at 2,045kg. This Top Trumps win does come at a hefty price though, because the Mercedes costs £154,000.

So it seems like an easy win for the AMG, right? Well the stats aren’t everything when it comes to a drag race, so check out the video to see if the Audi or BMW have some tricks up their sleeve.
