A hotter version of the scalding Hyundai i30 N hot hatch has been spotted on track. Here’s everything you need to know…

A hardcore version of the Hyundai i30 N hot hatch has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring. It’s a pre-production version of the Hyundai i30 N Option – a focussed, more distilled version of the current i30 N – that was previewed at the Paris motor show late last year.

You can expect the test car’s wrap to hide a functional aero package with new front and rear bumpers, a vented lightweight composite bonnet and side skirts. A larger carbon fibre rear spoiler will also be offered, although it’s not on the car in these pictures. Combined, these aero tweaks should make the i30 N more stable on the straights and faster in bends.

The wheels have also been upgraded with the i30 N’s standard 19-inch alloy wheels swapped for lightweight 20-inch alloys wearing grippier semi-slick tyres. A new lightweight exhaust is also tipped to be on the upgrade list though – like the spoiler – it’s missing from the car in these pics.

Inside, the car is set to get aggressive bucket sports seats, lightweight Alcantara and sporty carbon-fibre style trim pieces.
