2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 price and release date
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 will be a super-hot hatchback with enough high-end kit and savage power to let it stand alongside the likes of the Audi RS3. Based on this, you can expect the brand new model to start at around £45,000.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 is expected to be released later this year.
2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 engines and driving
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 will feature a heavily re-engineered version of the prior car’s turbocharged, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. The 2019 A45 was originally estimated to have a power output of around 400hp; an unofficial leak at the start of this year seemed to confirm this. Taken from the German insurance website HUK24, the leak indicated that the entry-level version of the A45 will have 387hp, while an even sportier ‘S’ version will make a mammoth 421hp – that’s more power per litre than a McLaren Senna. This means you can expect to go from 0-60mph in under four seconds, putting the car on par with an Audi RS3 and 0.7 seconds quicker than its Mercedes-AMG A35 sibling.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 will most likely have an updated version of the previous model’s seven-speed automatic gearbox, so that it can handle the increased torque of the more powerful engine. As with the latest car, the 2019 A45 will come with four-wheel drive.
2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 styling
At its core, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 will be a super-sporty variant of the standard Mercedes A-Class. However, there are a number of unique styling choices that give the game away. These include more aggressive and ground-hugging bumpers, four giant exhaust pipes, a lowered suspension and larger wheels.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 is expected to feature an ‘aero pack’, which will add some carbon fibre trim to the car. This will not only improve downforce, but look pretty cool in the process.
2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 interior
Not only is the 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 slated to be faster and more powerful than the last model; it’s anticipated to be more practical, as well. For a start, the boot is set to be bigger. Plus, a longer wheelbase (the distance that separates the front and rear wheels) means that the car should have greater legroom over the prior version.
Inside the 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45’s cabin, you can expect the usual creature comforts of Mercedes’s AMG range. This means that you’ll get some figure-hugging sports seats, colour-contrast stitching and carbon interior trim. The A45 should also get the new A-Class’s MBUX infotainment system. This setup twins the traditional infotainment touchscreen with the driver’s display in a dual-monitor layout. It’s simple to use and will help make the interior look rather stylish and high-tech.
