Drag race: Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and Nissan GTR vs Lamborghini Huracan Performante

Can a family SUV really be faster than a bright yellow Lamborghini, or do you need something more hardcore? Today we find out.

We haven’t brought just any family SUV. Lining up first we have a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. It has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 640Hp and 850Nm of torque. This goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It’s on the heavy side, coming in at 2,200kg.

The Lamborghini Huracan Performante is quite a bit lighter than that, tipping the scales at 1,500kg. It has a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 with 640Hp and 600Nm of torque. This is fed to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The final challenger to the raging bull is the Nissan GTR. This one has been tuned by JM imports so it’s 3.8-litre V6 has 700Hp and 850Nm of torque. It has all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

So do either of these cars have what it takes to beat the Lamborghini down the ¼ mile? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
