Drag race: Lamborghini Aventador SVJ vs Suzuki Hayabusa

June 01, 2022 by

When it comes to drag racing, can two wheels be better than four? Today we’ll find out.

Today’s drag race sees Mat behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. It has a mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 engine with 770hp and 720Nm of torque. This is linked to a seven-speed robotised manual gearbox, and power is sent to all four wheels. The Lamborghini is light by car standards at 1,575kg, however this is the dry weight. Add all the fluids and you’ll be looking at around 1,675kg.

It’s still nowhere near as light as its competition today, as the Suzuki Hayabusa weighs in at just 260kg. It’s powered by a 1,340cc four cylinder engine with 195hp, plenty when you’ve only got one wheel to transfer that power to the ground.

So those are the stats, but which vehicle will come out on top? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
