Metallic - Celestial blue

Premium paint - Astro grey

Like Midnight black, Astro grey works best when it’s paired with the red pinstriping of higher spec models. It’s a classy colour, but could do with a little more warmth to make it look smarter under UK skies. A pricey choice.

Kudos to Kia for giving the Picanto such a bright colour as a no-cost option. Honey bee is a bright, vibrant shade of yellow, and it perfectly suits the car’s brief as a cheap and cheerful runabout.
Special - Clear white
£250
Why on Earth would you pay extra for such a dull colour on such an affordable car when the much nicer Honey bee yellow is free? Plain white paint just makes the Picanto look like you’ve rented it from the airport. Avoid.

Premium paint - Midnight black
£535
Midnight black works best if you’ve gone for the range-topping GT-Line S model of the Picanto, which comes with little red accents on the lower part of the body and running through the radiator grille. Otherwise, it just looks a bit ordinary which is not great when it costs this much.
Premium paint - Pop orange
£535
More red than orange in some lights, Pop Orange helps emphasise a lot of the contrasting and chrome trim fitted to the Picanto well. Although this won’t be as popular as more neutral colours on the used market, it looks pretty cool.
Premium paint - Silver frost
£535
Silver frost is hardly the most thrilling shade of silver — there are no nice warm undertones to it, so it’s quite a bright, harsh shade — but it does look fairly smart on the Picanto and adds a touch of large-car class. Pretty expensive for a paint option on such a small car, though (which is true of all the Picanto’s premium paint choices).
