- New Audi A6 Allroad spied
- Specs include four-wheel drive
- Air suspension
- 2020 release date
- Price from around £50,000
The new Audi A6 Allroad has been spotted for the first time. Based on the new A6 Avant, it gets four-wheel drive and air suspension that makes it capable of tackling the kind of rutted tracks and mud that would leave a regular A6 stranded. That said, you’ll probably not be alone if you choose it purely because it has a more rugged appearance than a regular Avant.
2020 Audi A6 Allroad price and release date
The Audi A6 Allroad will sit near the top of the A6 range and you can expect to pay £50,000 as a result. For that significant outlay, you’ll get a powerful diesel engine, four-wheel drive and air suspension as standard. The new car is expected to go on sale in 2020.
2020 Audi A6 Allroad specs
The Audi A6 Allroad will be based on the regular A6 Avant, but you can expect it to get a tougher appearance thanks to a revised grille and front bumper, with body cladding running up the side of the car. At the back, you’ll get twin exhaust pipes and a new rear bumper design. Roof bars – for the safe mounting of a variety of lifestylely accessories – are also likely to come as standard.
The changes will be more than skin deep, however. Air suspension will be fitted to all A6 Allroads, making it a very comfortable car over badly surfaced roads, but also allowing you to raise the car’s body to tackle rutted tracks and deep mud. To help the car find grip in those sorts of conditions, quattro four-wheel drive will also be fitted as standard and it will have an off-road mode that is unique to the Allroad car.
You can expect the Allroad’s interior to be very similar to the A6’s, although it is likely to get its own unique upholstery and trim pieces. The car’s infotainment screen will likely get its own unique visualisations for the four-wheel-drive system and air-suspension, along with a reversing aid that makes it easier to hook up a trailer using the car’s reversing camera.
In terms of engines, the Allroad will get the A6’s smooth-yet-powerful 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engines with 218, 272 or 320hp. They can return fuel economy of between 40 and 50mpg.
